The Scenic Route takes you from picturesque Goring up into the Chiltern Hills. You will pass through beech woodlands and through a chalk grassland nature reserve with panoramic views over the Thames Valley. The return leg to Goring is flat, along the River Thames. The walk is easy going, though you will need to cross the railway via a footbridge and navigate some hilly but beautiful sections at the start. The Flat route is shorter, avoids the hilly start but visits the main points of interest you would see on the Scenic Route. Goring is a small picturesque village at the foot of hills separated by the River Thames. There are several pubs serving food, restaurants, cafes, local shops, accommodation and a Youth Hostel. There is a regatta during the summer. Public toilets are located in Goring car park. There are no toilets or refreshments on the walks outside of the villages. These cinemas were originally theatres and music halls or were built on the site of theatrical establishments long gone. But fear not, there are still plenty of working theatres to discover on the Theatrical London walk, many with intriguing stories to tell, some haunted by ghosts and others moving with the times, from music halls to 21st-century multimedia venues.
