HISTORIC HOME TOURS

Britain’s historic homes tours offer wonderful glimpses into our past. These circular tours are in idyllic settings, letting you soak in and appreciate the beautiful countryside.

The homes have rich and interesting histories and are certainly worth a visit in their own right, though admission to the buildings is not included with the tour. Many of the properties featured in these tours are run by the National Trust or English Heritage and if you are not already a member you may wish to consider joining for full access to the properties. Memberships or entry fees are not required for our tours as they follow public footpaths crossing the properties.

Parking for our Historic Homes tours are not on the properties themselves, unless they are public facilities, though if you intend to include a visit to the house featured in a tour (either as a member or pay on the day) you’ll be welcome to use them.

As with all our other tours you have complete freedom however, and can start from any point on the route and travel in either direction, but please do ensure you have permission to park if you choose not to use an acknowledged public facility. For example, pub car parks are not for general public use, they are reserved for patrons.

Please remember to adhere to the Countryside Code, full details can be found here.

In brief it’s designed to ensure that the public respect, protect and enjoy the countryside.

Our historic homes tours do not include the use of any private trails/walks which might also be on the property or access to the home or its outbuildings. If you do you use them or wish to access the buildings, you will be required to pay the relevant admission fee, if you are not already a member.
